Our Process for Quality Service
Every job runs the same way, whether it’s a winery breakdown or general home electrical wiring, Southwest Power Solutions provides clear communication, careful work, and no shortcuts on safety. Here’s what working with us looks like:
Consultation & Quote
Every job starts with a proper conversation. Whether we come out to site or talk it through over the phone, we take the time to understand what you actually need — the problem you’re solving, the result you’re after, and any constraints like budget, timing, or a winery’s vintage schedule. From there you get a clear, no-obligation quote and a straightforward plan, so there are no surprises: you know the scope, the cost and the approach before any work begins
Efficient Delivery
Once you’re happy with the plan, we get on with it. We turn up when we say we will, work efficiently, and keep your home or site tidy as we go. Across installs, repairs, switchboard upgrades, fit-outs and breakdowns, the work is done to Australian electrical standards — never shortcuts. And if anything changes once we’re underway, you hear it from us first, so the timeline and the budget stay under control.
Quality Assurance & Ongoing Support
We don’t pack up until everything’s been tested and signed off. Before we leave, we check the work for safety and compliance and provide the electrical certification to prove it — which matters for insurance, resale, and your own peace of mind. And because we’re a local South West business, we’re not gone the moment the invoice is paid: if a question comes up later or you need us back, we’re a phone call away.
Why the South West Chooses Us
Honest pricing, safe work, and a local who picks up the phone. That’s the deal.
No Surprises
You’ll know the scope, the cost and the timeline before we start — and if anything changes along the way, you hear it from us first. No hidden costs, no vague invoices, no being left guessing. Just clear, honest communication from the first call to the final handover.
Done Safely, Done Right
Every job is carried out to Australian electrical standards and properly tested before we leave site, with the compliance certification to back it which matters for your insurance, your safety and your peace of mind. We’d rather do it once and do it right than cut a corner you’ll pay for later.
Available When You Need Us
We’re based in the South West, not driving in from the city; so we reach you faster, and we know the area’s homes, businesses and winery sites well. When something fails at the worst possible time, you’ve got a local who’ll actually pick up the phone and turn up.
Our Projects
We’d rather show you than tell you. Across the South West, our work falls into three areas: keeping the region’s wineries running through vintage, fitting out commercial spaces from the ground up, and wiring new homes and renovations alongside the area’s trusted builders. Every project below is a real local client and a fair sample of what we can do for you — whether you run a vineyard, a business, or you’re building your own place.
Local Wineries
Wineries are our specialty. We handle ongoing electrical maintenance, breakdown response and installations for some of the South West’s best-known labels; Cape Mentelle, Brookland Valley, Borello Wines, and many more. We keep cellar, production and site systems running through vintage and beyond.
Commercial Clients
We look after commercial spaces across the region, from full fit-outs to ongoing maintenance, including complete electrical fit-outs for clients such as local skincare company Eden Aesthetics, and regular maintenance for Capital and Apex Radiologists, Vasse Bakery, Down to Earth, and many other South West businesses.
New Homes & Renovations
We’re the electrical partner for multiple South West builders like Dunsborough Carpentry, Henderson Built, and Pure Build; wiring new-home builds or extensions and handling bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovations from rough-in to fit-off. Our builders know what quality looks like, and we are happy to partner with them.
What Our Clients are Saying
Real Google reviews from our valued clients throughout the south-west. Businesses, and individuals alike, all saying the same thing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we get asked most
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Southwest Power Solutions is a licensed electrical contractor, licence number EC17555. In WA only a licensed contractor can legally do electrical work, and the law says that number has to be on your quote and invoice, so you can check us to make sure everything is legitimate. Building and Energy WA has a free licence search online and our EC number is all you need. We’re insured too, so if anything gets damaged on the job, you’re covered.
Do you charge a call-out fee, and how does pricing work?
You’ll get a price before we start, not after. For most jobs that’s a fixed quote, so you know the full cost up front with nothing hidden, waiting on the invoice. For smaller jobs or fault-finding we’ll tell you exactly how the charging works before we book anything in. Quotes are free, so if you want one, just get in touch.
Can I legally do my own electrical work?
Short answer, no. In WA it’s against the law for anyone who isn’t a licensed electrician to do fixed electrical work. That’s wiring, power points, light switches, and hardwired gear like ceiling fans and ovens. It isn’t just about paperwork either. Bad wiring starts fires, and work done by an unlicensed person can void your home insurance and get flagged when you sell. Plugging in an appliance is fine. Anything behind the wall, leave to us. If you are unsure about whether you need a Sparky or not, give us a call and we’d be happy to discuss it with you.
What areas do you cover?
All over the South West. Margaret River, Augusta, Busselton, Dunsborough and the towns around them. We’re ACTUALLY based here, not sending subcontractors to do the work and not driving down from Perth. We’re centrally located right here in the South West, so we can usually get to you quickly. If you’re in the region and not sure we reach you, give us a call. Chances are we do.
How do I know if my switchboard or wiring needs upgrading?
A few things are worth watching. Old ceramic fuses or no safety switches on the board, breakers that trip when you run a few things at once, warm power points, flickering lights, or a faint hot- plastic smell. A lot of older South West homes weren’t wired for all the high current appliances we have now, like air con, induction cooktops and EV chargers. If any of that sounds familiar, get it checked. We’ll tell you straight whether it’s urgent or it can wait, rather than just selling you a new switch-board.
The most important thing is that you have your electrical circuits on RCD. Their function is to protect you and your family to ensure in the event that something does go wrong. Your circuit is truly going ti cut out before an electric shock, or fire. If you’re unsure that they are compliant, please don’t delay in reaching out. It’s not worth the risk.
